6.Continue to make money by creating and sharing my thoughts and beliefs through artistic expression: all the while hoping that my art will impact others. "Holly Kennedy

: All I know is, if you don't figure out this something, you'll just stay ordinary, and it doesn't matter if it's a work of art, or a taco, or a pair of socks! Just create something... new, and there it is, and it's you, out in the world, outside of you, and you can look at it, or hear it, or read it, or feel it... and you know a little more about... you. A little bit more than anyone else does... Does that make any sense at all?" Quote from PS I LOVE YOU

Getting ready to write!

I found a few places online that send you free books if you review them and post the review on your blog and amazon. So I signed up and I got my first book in the mail on Saturday. I am in the process of reading it now but I have a few questions for some other bloggers. Is there a template for reviewing a book correctly?
You see my brain likes to over think things. I want to get it write. I am taking notes through out the book. What questions should I answer for those who want to read the book? Any ideas? And no I am not going to tell you what book it is, but I will tell you that it is a Christian Study book. Meaning that it has questions in the book after each chapter for reflection on how you can apply the words to your life.

  2. Great idea, Brown! Hmmmm...well, if you'll be reviewing them here on your blog, I'd choose books that are relevant to your topics, books that illuminate your journey and maybe even some that challenge you. Write about what strikes you, what riled you up about a book or what you find affirming. I'd suggest starting some dialogue with your readers too--pose some questions to them that you would like the answer to.

If you keep your reviews in your voice and style, they will enhance your blog and enrich the lives of your readers as well as your own. (For format ideas, I'd peruse some blogs that do book reviews and see how they do it. Pick and choose what you like.)

  3. Beth-I found the idea on someone else's blog. GO to the Booksneeze icon on my main page. SO far they are the only one I have signed up for.
Tanya- I would love to do it the way you say, but they only have about 6 books to choose from and they aren't any I would choose automatically. I chose a book that didn't have a review yet. And I think that I am going to do two reviews on the book. One for my blog that is in my voice style as you suggest and the one for amazon more formally. Thanks for the ideas.
