4. Become debt free & build security for my family, so we can then bless others financially also.

5. Continue to grow closer to God, building My family's faith & sharing the Gospel with those we meet, by using the talents and gifts God has provided us.

6.Continue to make money by creating and sharing my thoughts and beliefs through artistic expression: all the while hoping that my art will impact others. "Holly Kennedy

: All I know is, if you don't figure out this something, you'll just stay ordinary, and it doesn't matter if it's a work of art, or a taco, or a pair of socks! Just create something... new, and there it is, and it's you, out in the world, outside of you, and you can look at it, or hear it, or read it, or feel it... and you know a little more about... you. A little bit more than anyone else does... Does that make any sense at all?" Quote from PS I LOVE YOU

Welcome 2013

I hope that you all had a happy new year. I know that a new year brings so many thoughts of new beginnings. New diets, new work out routines, new goals, new friends and new memories to make. But in CR we try and take things one step at a time. One moment at a time. So thinking about the new year I want to plan for the whole year and set outrageous goals and plans, but as someone in recovery I will plan for this week and tomorrow and this next moment.

I do want to follow suite with some other bloggers and pick a word for the year. The idea of picking a word for the year is to find moments in that year that you look for that word affecting your life. For example if you pick joy as your word, then you would try and look for joy throughout the year and write about it.

So my word of this year is Opportunity.
I am going to try and look for more opportunities.
Each meal is an opportunity to eat healthier.
Each person I meet is an opportunity to show God's love.
I am going to take the opportunities that are given to help me, instead of trying to handle it on my own.
I am going to try and create opportunities for others to grow closer to God.
I am going to use the opportunities God is giving me each day.

SO have you chosen a word for the year? What are you looking forward to this year or are you trying to take this year one moment at a time? Whatever your plans are for the new year, I hope you grow closer to God and learn more about yourself. And I hope that you see the opportunities that God is giving you!

Happy New Year!

  1. Great post Brownie! I'm not one for making resolutions, as I don't think people should only pick one time of year to set goals. They should be set as the days progress, because they are much more attainable this way!

I haven't heard about picking a word for the year. Great notion! I would have to say that mine would be, Adventure! Because really, every aspect of life is an adventure, and I expect Mia and I to have many more this year!

By the way, baby boy is adorable! Happy New Years, and I hope your Christmas was Merry! :)

I love the word for the year thing altho I hadn't heard of it either. I just can't seem to narrow it down to one word. In just the past few minutes I've come up with Success, determination, Healing...hmmm, I'll have to think about it a bit more. Great post!
